The Effects of Aquarobics Exercise on Body Composition and Isokinetic Muscular Function of Postmenopausal Patients with Knee Osteoarthritis

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of aquarobics exercise on body composition and isokinetic muscular function of patients with knee osteoarthritis. The subjects were female elderly eighteen patients with knee osteoarthritis. This study selected nine people of aquarobics exercise group and nine people of non-aquarobics exercise group. The aquarobics program was goven 60 minutes and 3 times a week for 12 weeks. The results of this study were as follows. There were significant differences for left extension in 60¡Æ/sec and left flexion in 180¡Æ/sec. There were significant differences for right flexion and left extension in 240¡Æ/sec. In conclusion, there has been a substantial improvement in 12 weeks aquarobic exercises, which allowed the osteoarthritis patients to enhance their muscular function(strength, power, endurance).
